Learning is something you can’t stop doing every day because every day that passes, you will have a new thing to learn. And as we know that learning is not something that can be done within a short period of time it will definitely take time.
As useful as learning and growing knowledge is, it may be somehow difficult for some people to grab fast.
As learning is important, so also time is precious. So for you not to waste your precious time here are some things you have to put inline, to make sure you get assimilated as fast as possible.
1. Jot down points on a pepper.
If you are in a classroom, under lecture, or even in a seminar, you won’t be able to grab everything the lecturer is saying, all you have to do is to pick your pen and paper and write down key points that you think you will need.
Why I note “paper” is that some may prefer taking notes on their laptops or computer, but I can bet with you that, typing on the computer while the lectures are ongoing can not be as fast as writing it on paper. And after the lecture, you can copy it to your computer for future use.
When you jot down important points you can grab, it will be easy for you to go back there and read for better understanding.
2. Study, sleep and study again.
In a situation whereby you have a project to submit or you have a presentation to present the next day and you are not fully prepared, you will think the best way is to burn the candlelight cramming all over the night; but it absolutely not the solution, because the more you deny your self sleep the more chance of you failing the exam.
Research proves that they is a strong connection between learning and sleeping. When you catch a deep sleep after reading (for at least 12 hours) you will definitely table your presentation well.
A student that does not only read but also sleeps a lot will not only be educationally extraordinary but also happy.
3. Teach others.
Most people think that they must be an expert before teaching others, whereas teaching others is what makes you an expert. When teaching another person a subject, both of you are gaining because when you are teaching someone you will recover what the teacher has thought of you.
You don’t probably need to gather a whole lot of students or form a group to teach before you can attain this, all you need is just some colleague you have an understanding than and you will share what you know with them to gain more.
4. Learn in different ways.
If you are learning a skill, don’t base your learning process on a single way, trying many other ways will help you in mastering a skill better and faster than doing it in the same way always.
If you are a student if you notice that when you study in a quiet place you assimilate fast why not try reading at night before going to bed.
You can also try group learning to be sure of the best. when you try many ways you get to realize the best for you.
5. Practice regularly.
It is confirmed that regular practice can improve your memory recall. When you practice regularly, it will be easy to recall when you need it.
Unlike cramming when you practice regularly you won’t forget easily.
6. Task yourself.
when you think you have known a particular thing you have learned, then try engaging yourself in some task to be sure of what you think you know.
If you want to learn faster, then make sure you focus on such a subject only. take away anything that can cause distraction and don’t forget to ignore calls and email to stay focused.
